Nest is a family home lifted above the water on a demanding coastal site. Snell Isle asks a lot: flood, heat, hurricane, warm nights and trade winds. Rather than brace against it, Nest turns each condition into the plan. The living floor rises seven feet onto piers, the rooms wrap a raised garden open to the sky and closed to the street, and cross-ventilation moves through every space so the house still works when the machines are off. From anywhere inside, a growing family stays in sight of each other. Small at the edge, open in the middle, a home built to hold a family close.
